Customer service and cards FAQs

Answers on card issuance, replacements, PIN reset, and data updates.

Issuing and personalising local cards (Maestro, Merchant, Wafra) takes 3 to 5 working days, while international Visa cards take 5 to 7 working days. You will be notified by SMS as soon as the card arrives at your nominated branch.
You can immediately submit a replacement request on this page and enable instant card blocking, or call the free customer-service number (1588), available 24/7, to block the card and protect your balances.
Choose the “Reset PIN” service, verify your identity by entering your national ID and confirming the OTP sent to the phone linked to your account, then create a new PIN.
Updating your data is a regulatory requirement under Central Bank of Libya instructions. It keeps your account, cards, and digital banking services active and helps avoid suspension or freeze of transactions.
A nominal fee is charged to reissue and print the replacement card and allocate a new PIN, according to Al Waha Bank’s approved tariff, and is deducted directly from your current account.
Once any request is sent, you receive a unique reference (e.g. OWB-REQ-XXXXX). Use the “Track requests” section and enter the number or your national ID to see the processing stage in real time.
